This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes the information that may be collected at the Site, the choices you can make about our use of your personal information and how we protect your personal information.

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Site and the online activities conducted on the Site by TheWagerLeagues. You can visit the Site and see what we do there without providing personal information. However, to participate in our leagues or other interactive features, you will need to provide personal information.

In addition to our General Uses listed below, we use the personal information you provide only for purposes consistent with the reason you provide it such as:

Registration / Leagues: By registering as a user, you will be able to participate in leagues, set up your own leagues, “friend,” “follow” and communicate with other users, leave feedback or otherwise take part in the interactive features of the Site. As part of registration, we collect your name and e-mail address. You are permitted to post a picture to represent yourself as you set up your Profile. In addition, as part of setting up and paying for a league or other participation in Site activities, we additionally collect your time zone, credit card number, expiration date, and full billing address. We use all this information in order to confirm your registration, carry out your transactions on the Site, pay for your transactions on the Site and for other Site-related communications. We collect your time zone in order to allow correct posting of times to your display as you participate in leagues. We will send you updates about TheWagerLeagues and the Site and important messages about your account (“Transactional Messages”), as well as marketing messages and special offers (“Promotional Messages”) (but see below under “Your Choices” for how to discontinue receipt of Promotional Messages). We may ask for other information about you in order to customize your website experience or perform other internal analyses to improve our services or the Site. We indicate at the time of collection which information is mandatory and which information is optional to provide.

Information Requests: We may ask you to provide personal information in order to allow us to respond to your requests for information or other requests made over the Site.

Your Postings to Your Profile / Forums / League Entries / Feedback: Subject to the Terms of Use, you are able to post in your Profile, forums and other areas of the Site any information that you wish. We review and monitor this information, but we do not collect or use this information for any specific purpose other than to administer the Site.

Contests and Surveys: In addition to your name, address and other identifying information, we may ask you to provide other information about your household and interests if you choose to participate in any contests or surveys offered on the Site or to our users. You can always choose not to participate. We use this information to administer the contest or survey, and to analyze and improve our Site and product offerings. We may also make aggregate information from such contests and surveys available to third parties.

Web Logs / Non-personal Information. Like most standard website servers, we log IP addresses (a unique number assigned to every computer on the Internet) in order to improve security, analyze trends and administer the Site. We may track your movement within the Site, the pages from which you were referred, access times and browser types. This information may include the browser you are using, the internet address from which you linked to our Site, the unique IP address of the computer you used to access our Site, and usage and browsing habits. Each registered user of TheWagerLeagues can set up (as well as edit) a profile of the information he or she wishes other users to see under “Profile.” You can edit your e-mail preferences at any time by visiting your Profile once you are signed in.

While TheWagerLeagues may contact you with Promotional Messages, you always have the choice not to receive such items. You may contact us at admin@thewagerleagues.com to communicate your marketing preferences and request to be removed from marketing lists, or you may write to us at the address provided below under “Contact Us.” In addition, you may follow the instructions given in any Promotional Message in order to opt-out of these communications.

Even if you choose not to receive Promotional Messages from us, we may continue to use your e-mail address in order to send you Transactional Messages.

TheWagerLeagues will not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties without your permission, except as necessary or appropriate to (i) carry out transactions you make on the Site, such as setting up leagues that you sponsor, (ii) respond to your requests or answer your inquiries, (iii) comply with any applicable law, court order or other judicial process, or to protect us or our users from liability, loss or harm.

In the event of a corporate transaction such as a sale or merger involving TheWagerLeagues, personal information may be transferred to the purchaser. In the event of such a sale or transfer, we will use reasonable efforts to direct the transferee(s) to use personal information you have provided through this Site in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy.

TheWagerLeagues may collect and share aggregate website statistical information (such as sales, traffic patterns or related information) with third parties, but no such aggregate information will contain information that could be used to identify you.

Your e-mail address will not be shared with other users unless you post it on a public space on the Site, send it to another user, or give us permission to share it. We may also post on the Site certain user information, such as your display name if you are a league winner, but we will not post any information that may be used to individually identify you without your permission. Please be aware that any information you enter in your public Profile will be visible to all users.

We may occasionally hire contractors to provide certain services on our behalf, including IT services or information processing. These contractors are required to maintain the confidentiality of the information and are restricted from using the information for any purposes other than those authorized by us.

How We Protect Your Information

We employ and maintain technology and security measures designed to protect your personal information. When you submit sensitive information via our website, such as credit card information, that information is subject to a variety of protections both on-line and off-line, including password-protected systems, firewalls and secure sockets layer (SSL) encryption technology. However, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed as 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or receive from us.

Other Site-Related Information

Public Forums. The Site may make chat rooms, forums, message boards, and/or news groups available to the users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information. We strongly recommend that you do not post your e-mail address or other personal information in our forums because this information is publicly available for anyone to see and unscrupulous third parties may use this information to form 'spam' lists or may otherwise misuse this information. We are not responsible for the use or misuse of any information posted by you in public forums by other users of the Site.

Banner Advertising. Where we have identified a specific third party advertising company below as an “Third Party Advertising Company,” we may use such third-party advertising company to serve ads when you visit the Site. This third-party advertising company may also separately place or recognize a cookie file on your browser in the course of delivering advertisements to the Site. We currently do not have a Third Party Advertising Company. The Site has been designed for users located in the United States. If you are a registered user of the Site, you can update your information at any time. To do this, just log in and go to “Profile” and update your personal information as needed. You may also contact us to correct or modify the information you provide through the Site.
